FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Applegate Park Zoo in Merced is welcoming two new baby animals to its facility.

Macchiato, or Otto, is a 4-month-old raccoon. He comes from the Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center. The care center there confiscated him from a home where he was being kept as an illegal pet.

Julie is a 6-month-old coyote. She also came from the Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center. Center members rescued her from an apartment complex parking lot.

The zoo is home to more than 70 animals -- most of which are rescues that would be unable to survive in the wild.
