Philadelphia 76ers point guard Michael Carter-Williams will be named the NBA Rookie of the Year, sources with knowledge of the voting have confirmed to ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

The award is expected to be announced next week.

News of the voting was earlier reported Saturday on NJ.com.

Carter-Williams averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 assists, and 6.2 rebounds as one of the few bright spots in the Sixers' dismal 19-63 campaign.

Drafted with the 11th overall pick out of Syracuse, Carter-Williams was the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month four times this season.
