Free-agent center Willie Reed has reached an agreement with the LA Clippers, league sources tell ESPN.

The 6-foot-11 rim-protector has agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million contract, sources say.

Reed, 27, appeared in 71 games last season for the Miami Heat and averaged 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds. Despite playing just 14.5 minutes per game as the backup to Hassan Whiteside, he blocked nearly a shot per contest. He has a career field goal mark of 57 percent.

The athletic big man also had interest from the Golden State Warriors. In June, he declined his 2017-18 player option of $1.6 million to test free agency.

The Clippers also chased free-agent center JaVale McGee, who played for the Warriors last season.

Reed went undrafted out of Saint Louis in 2011 after turning pro following his sophomore year. He spent time in the NBA Development League as well as a stint overseas before latching on with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2015-16 campaign.
