FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- With the turn of dirt on Thursday, Caltrans and the Fresno County Transportation Authority marked the beginning of work on the final segment of the Kings Canyon Expressway.
The $55 million project will extend the current four-lane expressway more than four miles from Smith Avenue to Frankwood in eastern Fresno County.
It will also improve traffic flow along Highway 180 for people heading into Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.
