"I didn't really know what to expect but once we got up there I thought it was a blast," Brian said. "Watching the dogs work and the effort they put into this hunt was awesome."
It was amazing to watch the dogs work. The hard-bodied lean dogs are docile as can be when they aren't hunting -- and can go full throttle once they get on the track.
Unlike hunting rabbits (who make multiple circles), coyotes don't make many circles. For the hunter, it's as simple as getting to where the dogs are headed ahead of the coyote.
"It probably took two or three hours to get in front of them and it was a lot of work," said Brian, who got his first coyote on the trip. "It felt great. It was a great experience and I loved it".
