4-year-old hospitalized after hit by vehicle in East Central Fresno; suspect wanted, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 4-year-old child was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Peach and Nevada avenues in East Central Fresno around 8:07 p.m. on Tuesday, police say.

According to Fresno police, a vehicle traveling north on Peach struck the 4-year-old after the child had wandered into the street.

The vehicle fled the scene.

The child was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

The suspect's vehicle has not been identified.

The hit-and-run is under investigation.
