Last fall, Google launched its "flu trends" program in the U.S. It takes users' search terms about common flu symptoms -- to help predict where the flu is spreading.
Google launched a similar program for Mexico. Google says the flu trends for Mexico is still experimental … But they were able to detect increases in flu-related searches in Mexican states, as early as last week.
The say the trend maps can be a good indicator of where the next outbreak could occur.
