Human Bones Discovered, Crime Suspected

Fresno, CA The bones, which include a partial human skull and bones from human fingers and toes were found by a laborer in a in a rural area about five miles West of Fresno. Fresno County Coroner David Hadden says the remains appear to be evidence of a relatively recent homicide.

"These bones do not appear to be old and they are most definately not Indian. And because of the incomplete nature of the specimen we presume that a crime has been committed." Hadden said.

Hadden says it should be possible to retrieve DNA from the samples. The forensic anthropologist from Fresno State is examining each bone and the Fresno County Sheriff's Department is conducting a homicide investigation.
