Witness reflects after man shot in Tower District

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The suspect who was arrested in connection to a shooting in Fresno's Tower District has been identified as 27-year-old Charles Muhammad.

Authorities say he was one of the suspects who quickly left the scene in a vehicle after the shooting.

Fresno Police say a fight broke out around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Olive and Linden avenues.

One witness told Action News he saw a black van drive by just before hearing the gunshots.

A 32-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital, where he has already been released.

Officers say a woman was also injured due to being trampled from the chaotic scene.

A Fresno police helicopter was able to follow the suspected vehicle to Kona Avenue and Beck Avenue, where authorities say the suspects got out and started running.

Three people total were taken into custody. Muhammad was identified as the shooter.
