Organizations accepting donations to help Haiti

Supplies accepted include: bottled water, canned food and non-perishable food items, manual can openers, new blankets, diapers, wipes & baby care items, personal hygiene items, 5-gallon buckets with lids, rubber gloves, masks, paper towels, toilet paper, flashlights with batteries, duct tape, brooms, mops and cleaning supplies. Of course, cash donations are welcome. No glass or clothing items can be accepted.

Product donations are being accepted at ISOH/Impact's warehouse located at 905 Farnsworth Rd. in Waterville at all times.

  • In Toledo: Monroe St., S. Reynolds Rd., King Rd., and Central Ave.
  • In Sylvania: Monroe St.
  • In Holland: Orchard Centre Dr.
  • In Maumee: Illinois Ave.
  • Also, Perrysburg and Northwood locations.
- Northwest Ohio Urgent Care at 1015 Conant Street in Maumee through Jan. 29.

- Family Video at 8167 Lewis Ave. in Temperance from 10 a.m. to midnight.

- Second Glance at 5942 Secor in Toledo through Jan. 24.

Other ways to donate:

- Finish Line shoes will accept gently used shoes for the relief effort at its area stores at Franklin Park shopping town in Toledo and Frenchtown Mall in Monroe. The retailer will also offer a $5 discount on a new pair of footwear with the donation of a gently worn pair, subject to certain terms and conditions.

The public can drop off items at Notre Dame Academy, 3535 W. Sylvania, on the following schedule: Weeks of February 22 and March 1, medical supplies such as Tylenol, Neosporin, Children's Tylenol, etc.; weeks of March 8 and 15, rice, beans, canned goods, and manual can openers; weeks of March 22 and 29, personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, etc.

The Diocese of Toledo is coordinating relief efforts with Catholic Relief Services. Visit toledodiocese.org to find out how to contribute.

Dayspring Church on N. Main St. in Bowling Green has a donation pod set up.

Mission Possible of Findlay is accepting monetary donations to assist earthquake victims. Checks may be sent to: Mission Possible, 124 W. Front St., Findlay, OH 43859. More information is available at www.ourmissionispossible.org.

Operation Compassion is accepting donations online at operationcompassion.org.

United Way is accepting monetary contributions. Go to www.liveunited.org to donate or you may text "Haiti" to 864833 on your cell phone to make a donation.

To donate $10 to the American Red Cross, text Haiti to 90999. The amount will be added to your next phone bill. The organization is also accepting donations through its International Response Fund, www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS.

To donate $5 to Wyclef Jean's Haitian Yele charity, text 501501. The money will be added to your next phone bill.

To donate through Oxfam's emergency appeal, visit www.oxfam.org.uk

To donate to Doctors Without Borders which is treating earthquake victims, go to www.doctorswithoutborders.org.

UNICEF is helping provide relief to children who are earthquake victims. You can make a tax-deductible donation at www.unicefusa.org or by calling 1-800-367-5437.

To donate to Partners in Health, which provides health care in Haiti, visit www.pih.org. The group is looking for medical professionals who want to volunteer to help.
