Students at the brand new College of the Sequoias Public Safety Facility in Hanford have access to the latest technology in police-training equipment.
The new campus not only has a personal gym with fitness equipment, but a new use-of-force training room and driving simulators. These driving simulators give new and current officers the training to keep them safe by simulating dangerous driving scenarios.
"It's been proven that when an officer goes through this program we're going to lessen the chances he or she is going to be in an accident and we know we lose more officers national through traffic related accidents than we do thru criminal assaults," said Brian Decuir.
C.O.S. says a record number of officers-in-training have signed up for their academy. This new facility replaces the older facilities in Visalia.
