NFL Star Hines Ward wins Dancing With The Stars

FRESNO, Calif.

He and his professional dance partner, Kym Johnson, endured 10-weeks of competition and a traumatic injury in rehearsal to win the title. The pair edged out actresses Kirstie Alley who took second place and Chelsea Kane who came in third. All three celebrities received perfect scores from the judges on their final dance last night but viewer votes made ward the winner.

"The competition has been so close all year, and we knew it was going to come down to voting. And we just want to thank our fans for voting us in," said champion Hines Ward, "they got us this mirror-ball trophy."

Hines Ward is the second professional football player to win the Dancing crown. Emmitt Smith won in 2006.
