Action News has confirmed a resident of Horizon Health Center in Northeast Fresno has been diagnosed with Legionnaire's Disease.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Action News has confirmed a resident of Horizon Health Center in Northeast Fresno has been diagnosed with Legionnaire's Disease, but their current condition has not been revealed.

Water at the facility is now flowing again after being shut off last week out of caution.

Fresno County Public Health Officer Dr. Ken Bird said no health center workers have the disease.

Dr. Bird also said the infection is not contagious.

According to the Health Department, Legionnaire organisms can enter any facility's water system through treated water into the building. Those organisms can multiply in stagnant conditions.

Horizon Health said it is now following the Health Department's prevention guidelines which include careful routine maintenance of the water system.
