FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Millions of Central Valley and California residents will cast their ballots Tuesday morning for several key races across the region and state.

Voters headed to the polls Monday in California's primary election, with dozens lining up at the Fresno County Election Headquarters as officials reported a steady turnout.

Clerk and Registrar of Voters James Kus said turnout is higher compared to recent primary elections.
"The participation rate in Fresno County is actually up this election over recent primary elections, not by a tremendous amount, but enough to be noticeable," Kus told Action News.
