LOS ANGELES -- The 2025 Oscars honored the best in cinema from the past year Sunday night.
The 97th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O'Brien, ended with "Anora" taking home the coveted trophy for best picture.
"Anora" was the top film of the night, taking home five Oscars including best director for Sean Baker.
The top acting prizes went to Adrien Brody, who won best actor for "The Brutalist," and Mikey Madison, who won best actress for "Anora." Winning in the supporting categories were "Emilia Pérez" star Zoe Saldaña and "A Real Pain" star Kieran Culkin.
Heading into the ceremony, "Emilia Pérez" led the field of nominees with 13 total Oscar nominations. It ended the night with two trophies.
This year's show honored the city of Los Angeles in the wake of the wildfires that left at least 29 dead and destroyed thousands of homes earlier this year, bringing firefighters onto the Oscars stage and hosting a charitable component to raise money for fire victims.
The Oscars ceremony aired live on ABC and streamed live on Hulu for the first time.

Best actor nominee Timothée Chalamet has arrived on the red carpet at the 2025 Oscars.
Chalamet, star of "A Complete Unknown," hit the carpet in an all-yellow suit before the show.
Chalamet's best actor nod comes by way of his performance playing cultural icon Bob Dylan in the biopic covering the musician's early years.
"A Complete Unknown" is nominated for eight total awards tonight.
Oscar nominees Demi Moore and Zoe Saldaña turned heads with their red carpet looks.
Moore, who is nominated tonight for best actress for "The Substance," stepped out in a sparkling white gown.
Saldaña, who is nominated tonight for best supporting actress for "Emilia Pérez," walked the carpet in an off-the-shoulder burgundy dress.
Selena Gomez arrived on the carpet in a champagne colored gown, while BLACKPINK's Lisa, who is performing tonight, hit the carpet in a stunning tuxedo-inspired look.
Meanwhile, "A Complete Unknown" actress Elle Fanning wore a white gown with a black bow.

"Live with Kelly and Mark" will take the Oscars stage Monday morning with a special post-Academy Awards show.
Hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos talked with On the Red Carpet's George Pennacchio before the Oscars on Sunday afternoon about the "After the Oscars" special episode.
Ripa told Pennacchio she and Mark will try to get in a few hours of sleep before they take the stage at 6 a.m. Monday in Los Angeles, adding "we have an amazing show planned."

Bob Iger, CEO of the Walt Disney Company, made an appearance on the Oscars red carpet.
The "big boss" praised various Disney projects honored with Academy Award nominations, including "A Complete Unknown" and "Inside Out 2."
Another big focus for the Oscars has been relief for those affected by the devastating Southern California wildfires, and Disney has aided in the relief efforts.
Disney is the parent company of ABC.
