Meeting to be held about plans for new town in Kings County
Plans for a new town in rural Kings County appears to be moving forward.

HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) -- Plans for a new town in rural Kings County appears to be moving forward.

The county is holding the first of three informational meetings Tuesday night for the public to ask questions.

The proposed town would be called Quay Valley and would be built near Interstate 5 north of the Kern County line. It would be developed by Grow Land and Water LLC. mostly on private land. The project proposal would take up 7,200 acres and house 75,000 residents.

Tuesday night's meeting is hosted by the Kings County Community Development Agency. It will be held at the Kings County Board of Supervisors Chambers in Hanford.

The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.
