

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- 18-year-old Cassandra Michael has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Caleb Quick.

A judge said on Monday that Michael "did aid and abet" the alleged gunman in Quick's killing.
While the case was heard in juvenile court, the judge allowed unrestricted camera access in the courtroom since Cassandra is now 18.

The hearing lasted for about a week before closing arguments began on Monday.

We heard from multiple people throughout the hearing, including detectives, family members of Quick's suspected shooter and an unidentified young woman who said she was sexually assaulted by Quick.
Quick was shot and killed outside a Clovis McDonald's the night of April 23, 2025. He was a high school senior who was about to graduate and planned to join the Air Force, according to his family.

The alleged motive, according to prosecutors, stems from a rape accusation involving Quick and a friend of the girl suspect.
The alleged gunman's transfer hearing is set to begin on Sept. 1. Proceedings are expected to last about five court days, with prosecutors planning to call close to 15 witnesses.
Cassandra will be back in court for her next hearing on August 31.
