Two men were arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of at least 185 pounds of stolen copper wire in Tulare County.

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two men were arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of at least 185 pounds of stolen copper wire in Tulare County.

Deputies pulled over 33-year-old Royer Gonzalez and found the stripped and burned wiring.

They also recovered 112 pounds of AT&T telecommunications cables, 20 pounds of brass irrigation valves, radiators and additional scrap metal -- all believed to be stolen.

Gonzalez was taken into custody.

His passenger, Benjamin Pulido, was also arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
