9-year-old airlifted to hospital after being rescued from Lake Kaweah

LAKE KAWEAH, Calif. (KFSN) -- A child has been airlifted to the hospital after she went missing in Lake Kaweah on Thursday afternoon.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says around 3:30 p.m., deputies were called to the lake for a possible drowning.

When they arrived, they learned that a 9-year-old girl had gone missing from the water.

A man nearby heard the commotion, found the girl, and pulled her out of the water, immediately performing CPR. Authorities took over once they arrived at the scene.

The girl was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Her condition is unknown.
