FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Dramatic surveillance video shows the moments a group of men smashed the glass door of a Fresno Bike shop and busted through metal bars early Friday morning, and it's not the first time. Now the business is asking for your help finding the suspects.
"So they threw a rock right on top of the window and the whole thing shattered," said John Pulido, manager of Fresno Schwinn.
In the cover of night, a group smashed through the front door of Fresno Schwinn in Central Fresno.
Met with metal bars, the group backed off, but not for long.
"Within maybe 5 or 8 minutes, there was no activity; they came back to finish what they had started," said Pulido. "So basically, they just used his body to break down the cage."
Just before 3:30 Friday morning, manager John Pulido woke up to a security alert on his phone; someone was inside the business.
He called the police, thinking the robbery had just started, but it had been going on for about 20 minutes.
He watched the clips of the robbers in action.
"They were kind of canvassing the place, and they grabbed a couple of bikes," said Pulido. "They grabbed a bike from here from the first rack and I guess in their attempt to take it off this whole rack just fell down."
The group made off with two bikes, worth about $1,600 in total, and caused damage of a few thousand dollars. In total, the business is out about $5,000.
Pulido said this isn't the first time the store has been targeted -- but it's the first time thieves have successfully made it inside.
"With every occurrence that has happened, we've always tried to put another plate of armor into the shop to where we have a peace of mind," said Pulido.
He hoped by sharing the video, someone might recognize the suspects and it could prevent other people from targeting the shop in the future.
By the time police arrived, the group had left. If you recognize anyone in the video, Pulido asks that you call the police.
