
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- An event was held to honor excellence across industries.
The Coalinga Area Chamber of Commerce recognized outstanding community members and businesses this weekend.
The 116th Annual Community Service Awards Gala was held at Coalinga College Saturday night.
Hundreds of community members enjoyed dinner prepared by Coalinga Cafe staff and the Coalinga High School Culinary Department.
The event recognizes members and organizations in the community who have made an impact over the last year.
Some of the awards included volunteer of the year, educator of the year, and home-based business of the year.
The final recognition was the "Leaving a Legacy" award, which was presented to Kathryn and Mark Cites.
For decades, their family has been catching and providing the Horned Toads for the annual Horned Toad Derby races in Coalinga.
