Disney releases programming lineup for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event
The three-day event features panels, exclusive reveals, surprises and the Disney Legends Ceremony.
LOS ANGELES -- Whether you're a die-hard Marvel fan, a "Bluey" lover, or ready to scrub back in with the cast of "Scrubs," Disney's newly announced D23 programming slate has something to make every kind of fan geek out!
The three-day event runs Aug. 14-16, giving Disney fans a mix of nostalgic throwbacks, showstopping performances and all-new experiences.
"At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the magic never stops," said Michael Vargo, head of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. "From the moment the first guest walks through the doors of the Anaheim Convention Center to the final curtain at the Honda Center, every hour is filled with something extraordinary. This is where fans become part of the story and every part of the Disney universe comes to life."
Each day at the Honda Center, fans can expect surprise performances, major announcements and exclusive sneak peeks. The weekend kicks off Friday, Aug. 14, with the Disney Entertainment Showcase, featuring celebrity appearances and first looks at upcoming movies and series.
Saturday, Aug. 15, features the Neil Patrick Harris-hosted Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, offering a deep dive into the vision of Disney Imagineers. The weekend concludes Sunday, Aug. 16, with the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, hosted by Ryan Seacrest and honoring stars like Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Jonas Brothers.
Across five Anaheim Convention Center stages, fans can catch panels with the creative teams behind "The Simpsons," "The Muppets," "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," "Bluey," "Bob's Burgers" and "Scrubs." Performance highlights include a rare Alan Menken concert, a live "Hey Jonas!" podcast recording and a nostalgic '80s and '90s Disney Rewind Concert.
Milestone anniversaries will also take the spotlight, celebrating 75 years of "Alice in Wonderland," 35 years of "Beauty and the Beast," 25 years of "KINGDOM HEARTS" and 65 years of Marvel's "Spider-Man."
