Disney unveils 'Twisted-Wonderland' anime

LOS ANGELES -- The trailer has been revealed for "Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation," the highly anticipated anime series debuting Wednesday, October 29, exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.

Based on the massively popular mobile game franchise, the series follows Yuken Enma, a high school student from Tokyo who is suddenly transported to Night Raven College, an elite academy for budding mages. With no magical abilities and little knowledge of this new world, Yuken must navigate unfamiliar customs, dangerous rivalries and mischief with his new classmates Ace and Deuce, all while searching for a way home.

Night Raven College itself is steeped in the legacy of Disney Villains. Seven dormitories are each inspired by the "Great Seven," including the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Ursula, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Hades and Maleficent. Their iconic acts and legacies shape the rules and culture of the magical academy. Yuken quickly learns survival at the school requires more than just courage, especially when he crosses paths with Riddle Rosehearts, the Rose-Red Tyrant.

With its release, "Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation" joins a growing lineup of anime series on Disney+, including the upcoming "Star Wars: Visions Volume 3." Through Hulu on Disney+, subscribers also gain access to an expanding library of acclaimed series such as "Murai in Love," "The Fable," "Go! Go! Loser Ranger!" and "Cat's Eye."

"Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation" premieres October 29, only on Disney+ and Hulu.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu, Disney+ and this ABC station.
