Dog recovering after reported beating in Corcoran backyard

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A dog is recovering in Kings County after she was beaten by a Corcoran resident.

Police were called to a home on San Joaquin on Monday for reports of animal abuse in the backyard of the home.

Officers say the man barricaded himself in the home once they arrived.

Officers were able to get the dog and bring her back to her owners.

Doja underwent treatment on Wednesday on two of her paws and jaw.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Police are working to get further evidence and witness statements.

Doja's owner has set up a GoFundMe page to help with her medical expenses.
