TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A barrage of bullets pierced the peace of the tiny town of Ducor but there's no clear picture of who's a suspect and who's a victim.

Authorities are working two separate scenes -- the gas station now wrapped in crime tape, the site of the shooting and about 12 miles southwest, a hospital in Delano, where three of the men involved are recovering.

"As of right now, we know there were five people involved in the shooting and those five people are accounted for," says Tulare County Sgt. Bryan Clower.

One man was taken to the hospital after the shooting and died.

The man who was at the gas station in a white sedan when deputies arrived also died.

But there are still questions about which of the men were shooting.

"At this point, we believe there are suspects and victims on both sides of this fight," Clower said.

One man has been released from the hospital and was arrested in connection to the homicides.

He says there is evidence that leads them to believe this might have been gang-related.

The shootout happened in the middle of the day and several people were at the gas station at the time.

"We have identified multiple victims who are present when this took place and we are working on the investigation now," Clower said.

The extent of the injuries of the two men who remain in the hospital at this hour is unknown, but the Tulare County Sheriff's Office says both will be arrested once released.
