

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- An evacuation order is in effect in the Sugar Pine area of Madera County due to an immediate threat to life from the Lewis Fire.
The Lewis Fire broke out at 2:40 p.m. Friday on Road 630, near Highway 41.
Highway 41 has been closed as crews work on battling the fire.

The Sierra National Forrest is taking over the firefight while CAL FIRE MMU units are assisting.
It's currently unknown how much acreage the Lewis Fire has burned.
