Fire near Bass Lake prompts evacuation advisories in Madera County

BASS LAKE, Calif. (KFSN) -- A fire near Bass Lake in Madera County has prompted evacuation advisories for nearby communities as crews work to contain the flames.

Authorities say the fire is moving up a hillside near Marina View Drive and Road 274. Evacuation advisories have been issued for the areas of Marina View and South Graham Meadow.

Several road closures are also in place in response to the fire.

A time-lapse video from the scene shows air tankers dropping red fire retardant to slow the fire's spread, producing thick smoke.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to monitor conditions closely and be prepared to leave if necessary.
