Fresno Chaffee Zoo shortening summer hours starting August 1

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- As the heat continues, one local zoo is shortening its hours throughout the summer months.

Starting August 1, the Fresno Chaffee Zoo is changing its hours to 9 am to 2 pm, shortening the day by two hours.

The zoo says the new hours are to provide the best possible guest experience while prioritizing the safety and well-being of animals, staff and guests.

The adjusted hours will end on October 1 and return to 9 am to 4 pm.
