FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A motorized scooter ban starts Wednesday at Fresno State on what is also the first day of the fall semester.
This includes the use of electric scooters, bikes and skateboards.
School officials say the goal is to minimize risks on campus.
Vehicles found in use on campus will be confiscated by Traffic Operations.
ADA vehicles are exempt from the ban.
Non-motorized scooters, bikes and skateboards are also still allowed on campus.
Before announcing the ban, the university introduced "wheels off" zones, along with red paint and signage to mark high-traffic areas where riders are required to walk.
