GoFundMe set up for paralyzed Cal Fire firefighter's family

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Cal Fire firefighter who was paralyzed by a falling oak tree while battling a blaze in Tulare County on July 3 has made a major move.

Damien Pereira was flown out of Community Regional Medical Center to a rehab facility in Northridge on Friday. Doctors had to clear fluid out of his lungs before he could make the trip. They've given Pereira a 50/50 chance of walking again.

A recovery fund has been set up to help his family while Pereira undergoes extensive rehabilitation. If you would like to donate to the GoFundMe account, visit www.gofundme.com/zjypc9s.
