Man arrested for attempted kidnapping in Los Banos, police say

LOS BANOS, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man has been arrested for an attempted kidnapping in Los Banos.

Police say a teenager was walking home near the Los Banos Memorial Hospital around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday when a man began following them.

The victim told police the man was holding a knife and forced them to go towards an apartment complex on Illinois Avenue near I Street.

However, the teen was able to escape while the suspect was distracted.

25-year-old Jose Sanchez was later identified as the suspect and booked into jail on several charges.
