Man hospitalized after being hit by vehicle in Central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Central Fresno on Monday night.

Fresno police say the collision occurred near Olive and Safford avenues, west of Palm Avenue, after the victim stepped into the roadway and was hit by a vehicle.

The victim was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with police.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the accident.
