Man killed in hit-and-run crash in Sanger, police say

SANGER, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is dead following a crash in Sanger that police say they are investigating as a hit-and-run.

Authorities were called out to Academy Avenue and 3rd Street just before 5:30 am Thursday.

They arrived and found a man lying in the street with injuries they say matched being hit by a vehicle.

He was declared dead at the scene.

Police say the driver left before emergency crews arrived.

Academy Avenue in the area of Fifth Street will be closed for several hours. Drivers should avoid the area.
