Motorcyclist killed after hit-and-run crash in Central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The man who was killed in a hit-and-run crash while riding his motorcycle in Central Fresno Wednesday night has been identified as 30-year-old Marvin Johnson of Fresno.

Fresno Police say they received a call about a hit-and-run just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of Dakota and Fruit avenues.

When they arrived, they found Johnson lying in the middle of the intersection. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

According to authorities, witnesses say the suspect was driving a silver SUV east on Dakota Avenue when they made a left turn to go north on Fruit Avenue. Johnson was traveling west on Dakota Avenue when he was struck by the silver SUV.

The suspect did not stop and quickly sped away from the scene, driving north on Fruit Avenue.

Fresno police say both the suspect vehicle and Johnson had a green light when the incident occurred.
