LOWER LAKE, Calif. -- Firefighters are battling a raging wildfire that has destroyed several homes and forced thousands to evacuate the Lower Lake area of Lake County.

The Valley Fire that started burning in Lake County and Napa County on Saturday, September 12, 2015 has forced more than 17,000 people to evacuate and has destroyed several hundred and up to 1,000 homes.
