35th Central Valley Honor Flight taking off with nearly 70 veterans
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Nearly 70 Valley veterans will gather at Fresno Yosemite International Airport Monday morning to prepare for their "trip of a lifetime!"
The 35th Central Valley Honor Flight will take off to Washington, D.C.
The veterans' years of service cover every year from 1954 through 1998, with two serving during the Korean War Era & 66 in uniform during the Vietnam War.
They'll gather at the airport for a special sendoff to the Nation's Capitol, where they will visit memorials and monuments built in their honor.
The flight will return this Wednesday, when a special welcome home ceremony will be held.
The public is invited to attend, with the flight scheduled to return sometime after 6 pm.
You're asked to arrive about an hour earlier to welcome our heroes home.
