LOS BANOS, Calif. (KFSN) -- A new place to enjoy some fun in the sun is now available in Los Banos.
The first city-owned pickleball courts opened on Saturday.
The nine courts are funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at the Ag Sports Complex off Mercy Springs Road and Del Rio Drive.
One of the benches at the new courts honors the late Robert Zavala, a former Los Banos police officer and avid pickleball player.
After the ceremony, community members and city leaders took part in some friendly competition.
