Sheriff's Office investigating shooting involving deputy in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office has confirmed they are currently investigating a shooting that involved at least one deputy.

The shooting occurred in the area of Garfield and Shields avenues in Fresno County around 7 p.m. on Tuesday night.

It is unknown if anyone has been injured.

Authorities say that there is no threat to the public.

Shields Avenue is closed off to drivers at Chateau Fresno Avenue and Grantland Avenue. Those traveling in the area are asked to find a different route.
