Driver shot in suspected road rage incident in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are investigating a suspected road rage shooting that left one person injured near Highway 180 and McCall Avenue in Fresno County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a male victim was found inside a silver Ford Mustang parked along the side of the road with at least one gunshot wound.

The suspected shooter left the scene before officers arrived. Investigators believe the shooting may have stemmed from a road rage incident, though the circumstances leading up to the gunfire remain under investigation.

The victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials have not released information on the victim's condition.

There is no suspect information at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol.
