Sterling K. Brown 'on board' for a 'This Is Us' reunion

SAN DIEGO -- Although "This Is Us" ended three years ago, it's still top of mind for many fans and even the stars!

At San Diego Comic-Con, On The Red Carpet spoke with Sterling K. Brown about his interest in a potential "This Is Us" reunion. He also shared his thoughts about the Emmy-nominated series "Paradise" and "Washington Black," his most recent project as both an actor and executive producer.

About "This Is Us," he told us, "I love that show so much. It's such an important part of my life, like I still do a podcast with Mandy Moore and Chris Sullivan. Every few weeks we get together and shoot episodes."

He explained further, "It will be part of our life. In terms of creatively, that depends on Dan (Fogelman). I think if Dan has a story that he thinks is worth telling in the form of a film or a limited sort of a thing, I think we would all be on board gladly, but it would have to come from him, because he's the person that generated it the first time."

Actress Chrissy Metz is also on board for a reunion!

Brown stars in Fogelman's most-recent project, "Paradise," which just received four Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, and acting nominations for Brown, James Marsden and Julianne Nicholson.

"Anything that Dan does is gonna be good. When we got the cast together that we were able to get - after I read the pilot, I was like, 'I'm as curious to find out what happens in this world as I think our audience will be.' It turned out to be true," he said about the success of the show.

"Paradise" was renewed for season two earlier this year, and at Comic-Con, fans were treated to a sneak peek at the upcoming season.

"Are you in as good of shape now as you were when you shot season one?" we asked.

"Pretty close to it. It's also like, there's different things for different days. Days in which I have to run, I look very different than days in which I have to take my clothes off, like you need a little bit of body fat when you're running around in 90 heat all day. If you're taking your clothes off, you try to have a little less," he laughed.

Brown is a busy guy. His new series "Washington Black" recently debuted on Hulu. He stars in the show and executive produces.

Originally based on the book of the same name by Esi Edugyan, Brown described it as, "A story about whimsy and wonder and globetrotting etcetera, and to have a young black boy at the center of something like that is something that I hadn't seen before. So, I was in at 'Hello' basically."

It follows a young boy named George Washington Black, who was "born on a plantation in Barbados, has this incredible intellect and imagination and creativity, and it's sort of a lesson on how your imagination can transcend your present circumstances. And even though he was born into captivity, his mind was free," he explained.

"This Is Us," "Paradise" and "Washington Black" are all streaming on Hulu.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
