13-year-old killed, 12-year-old hospitalized following crash in northwest Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that took the life of one of the two teens involved.

Officers responded to the intersection of Bullard and Palm shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Friday after multiple 911 calls.

When they arrived, they found a white truck and a moped scooter had collided.

13-year-old Dominiq Puentes and a 12-year-old were on the moped scooter and struck by a truck.

Dominiq was driving and died at the hospital from his injuries.

The 12-year-old is in critical condition.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
