Student hit by car near Sunnyside High School dies from injuries

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A student who was hospitalized after being struck by a car in Southeast Fresno has died, police confirmed.

The student was hit Friday night near Kings Canyon Road and Peach Avenue, adjacent to Sunnyside High School. Fresno police said the student died Wednesday at the hospital.

Authorities have not released details about what led to the crash.

The driver involved remained at the scene Friday night and was cooperating with the investigation.
