Suspect arrested for hit-and-run involving 4-year-old in east central Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A suspect is in custody in connection to a hit-and-run involving a child in east central Fresno.

It happened near the intersection of Peach and Nevada avenues after 8 pm Tuesday.

Officers say 31-year-old Aman Kumar was driving north on Peach when he hit a 4-year-old boy who wandered into the street.

The boy was rushed to the hospital with major injuries but is expected to survive.

Police were able to find Kumar and the vehicle hours later.

He admitted to hitting the child and taking off, and was arrested for felony hit and run.
