Here's how heat can cause flight delays

"Too hot to fly" -- is there such a thing?

As it turns out, there is. As AccuWeather explains, anything over 104 degrees can be cause for concern. That's because hotter temperature means thinner air. When the air gets too thin, planes can't get enough lift to fly safely.
