Judge dismisses lawsuit over Yosemite worker’s firing after trans flag protest

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by non-binary Yosemite Park employee Shannon Joslin, who was fired for hanging a trans flag at the park.

Joslin and a group of climbers displayed the flag last year on El Capitan.

Joslin was fired and accused of failing to demonstrate acceptable conduct.

That's when Joslin sued three federal agencies, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and four others, claiming the firing violated the First Amendment and Privacy Act rights.

The Department of the Interior stated Joslin failed to demonstrate acceptable conduct by participating in a protest outside the designated demonstration area and circumvented rules applicable to all park visitors.
