Tulare County coming together to raise funds for local woman fighting cancer

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The close-knit community of Woodlake is coming together to raise funds for a local woman battling cancer.

Last December, Lidia Gomez was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer.

Gomez has been hospitalized since February and will be returning home to her family next week. Her family says she will need to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of her life.

Her family and the community continue to support her through this devastating time.

There will be a car wash to help raise funds for Lidia on Saturday, July 4, starting at 8 a.m at Jack's Liquor in Woodlake.

The community is asking for extra support and looking for more volunteers.
