TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Tulare County Sheriff's Office will be holding a public ceremony Wednesday at its Peace Officer Memorial to unveil the name of Detective Randy Hoppert.
That's as they also honor the memory of 30 other peace officers whose names are engraved on the monument as a tribute to their service and sacrifice.
During last week's funeral for fallen deputy Hoppert, Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said the deputy's name had already been etched into the monument.
Hoppert died during a shootout in Porterville on April 9.
The public is invited to attend Wednesday's ceremony at 9 am.
It will be held at the Peace Officer Memorial Monument on the northwest corner of Burrel Avenue and Woodland Street in Visalia.
The ceremony will include musical performances, a flyover, wreath and flower presentations, and more.
