

HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) -- The family of a local fire cadet who died during training last week has identified him as 20-year-old Eric Arzate.
Arzate suffered a medical emergency at the College of the Sequoias Fire Academy campus in Hanford.
Fellow cadets immediately stepped in to help him until on-site paramedic staff started providing medical care.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died the following day.

The cause of the medical emergency is being investigated.
Azarte's family says his dream was to become a firefighter.
He shared a deep love of music with his father, who suddenly passed away three years ago. Both were musicians.
