'G' symbol returns to downtown Fresno skyline

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A historic symbol has been added back to the Fresno skyline.

Crews on Saturday installed the signature ''G'' in the Downtown area.

The sign was placed on the top of the State Center Community College District Office on Fulton and Fresno Streets.

It became a fixture in 1965 on what was the 'Guarantee Savings Building.'

Back in 2024, it was removed after the district inspected it and determined it was impossible to refurbish.

The sign has been replaced with a replica.

An official lighting ceremony will happen in the coming weeks.
