A groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday afternoon marked the beginning of repairs to the Cross Creek bridge in Kings County.
A chunk of the collapsed structure appeared to fall away from the ship and into the water after the charges went off, though a portion of wreckage remained on top of the ship, the video showed.
A bridge and railroad bridge were closed after 26 barges broke loose and floated uncontrolled down the Ohio River. The bridges have now reopened.
